ISOLATION ILLUSTRATIONS
WEEK ONE
With the New Zealand Government’s decision to move to Level 4 Lock-Down in March 2020 we were left wondering how we could engage with our students to promote the Stay Home campaign.
This was a very uncertain time and we wanted to make sure our students didn’t feel left alone, so we founded Isolation Illustrations, a form of distraction that put a positive creative outlet for all. The rules were as follows, look out for our word of the day and give yourself ~10 minutes to illustrate it, and boom you’re done!
Our first week was themed around self-awareness, we encourage everybody to look inwards and take stock of where they were in their current situation. Week one included a self-portrait, current view, hometown, bubble team, and favorite building.
The best part about this campaign has been seeing the range of media students are using to portray their isolation and the share amount of talent we have as a collective group.
One illustration at a time, we will get through this, together.
