This week's show us your portfolio features the incredible work of Sophie Sangster from Victoria University of Wellington. Her work from SARC455 House and Home investigates the relationship between a person and the world through models.
Sophie: This project endeavours to investigate the relationship between a person and the world, drawing on the act of staring out of the bedroom window at one specific viewpoint.
As we turned inward towards the interior spaces of our homes during lock down, our disconnect with the world that was began.
This is shown through the process of one scene that is pulled apart piece by piece. It is distilled into its separate parts of texture, movement and shape, only to be built back up as a reminder that things which were once normal, might be again.
